Birchgrove WI Subgroups
On the second Thursday of each month, members of Birchgrove WI's Book Club meet to share thoughts about that month's reading.
Books are distributed to our Book Clubbers by Birchgrove WI member Jan Arnold, who collects a number of copies of that month's title from Cardiff Public Libraries Reading Group collection - no need to buy a new novel every month!
For more information about Birchgrove WI's Book Club, ask to speak to Jan at one of our monthly meetings, where she'll usually have copies of the next Book Club pick available to interested members.
We are pleased to announce the formation of a new sub group – the Pastoral Group. The group’s ethos is “Women Supporting Women” and it will aim to coordinate practical support for Birchgrove WI members who are unwell, or going through difficult times.
Longstanding Birchgrove WI member Nadia Harrison is to be the lead contact for the Pastoral Group - if you'd like to get involved yourself, do ask for an introduction to Nadia at one of our monthly meetings!
There's always more going on at Birchgrove WI. Over the years we've enjoyed a variety of meals out, outings, coach trips and activities, from a quiz night at a crêperie and fishy goings on at a new seafood restaurant, to an evening of pampering at John Lewis and a ghost walk through the haunts of Llandaff.
What would YOU like to do? We're open to ideas, so if there's an exhibition you're keen on visiting, a show coming to town, or a new eatery opening up - anything you think would be better enjoyed in the company of your fellow WI members, do get in touch with the committee, and we'll throw it out there and see who bites!
If you're willing to take charge of bookings and arrangements, so much the better! We're all in favour of member-organised events, and will be happy to pass word around.
