Yesterday, 3 keen bakers met upstairs in the Conservative Club to begin our very own baking sub group. We tasted Chocolate Courgette & Walnut cupcakes, Chocolate & Olive Oil cake and Lemon Drizzle cupcakes, along with a savoury vegetarian plait and some welsh cakes made by members unable to attend!
The format of Brilliant Bakers was established, taste test all the baked items (sweet or savoury), give 2 tokens to the best and 1 to the 2nd best (so a Star Baker can be awarded each month) and then share friendly feedback and tips.
Workshops, trips and competitive baking was also discussed at length and the 3 bakers left full of cake and full of enthusiasm for next months "theme" ingredient - PUMPKIN. Will you be coming along to join us on November 1st?
